Kilograms and grams into grams
To convert kilograms and grams into grams, we multiply the number of kilograms by
1000 and add the product to the number of grams.
examples: a. 3 kg 120 g = (3 × 1000 ) g + 120 g = 3000 g + 120 g = 3120 g
b. 9 kg 378 g = (9 × 1000 ) g + 378 g = 9000 g + 378 g = 9378 g
Making equal Weights
Two 500 g-weights weigh 1 kg. Five 100 g-weights weigh 500 g.
2 × 500 g = 1000 g = 1 kg 5 × 100 g = 500 g
Two 250 g-weights weigh 500 g. Five 200 g-weights weigh 1 kg.
2 × 250 g = 500 g 5 × 200 g = 1000 g = 1 kg
